Google has been inovating in numerous technologies, has their own smartphone/tablet market and now has their own PC software. How would Google be interested in making an android based home console? Could it rival the Xbox series? Given the android gaming market, Google has a shot at a more broad appeal for gamers such as making a home console for the TV that caters to both casual and hardcore gamers.
What should Google's home console be called? I would call it Chromeplay. Google Play would be enhanced to include a Steam-like gaming market to stream games to the android based console. Google Play already has a library of games but they're meant to be played on android apps. Looking at iOS and Android games impresses me with console like graphics. iOS and Android games are low in cost making development costs lower with digital downloads. Chromeplay's size comes into play when you consider Ouya. If Chromeplay is to be geared towards both casual and hardcore gamers it's size must be big enough to accommodate the hardcore gamers but cheap enough for casual-hardcore gamer hybrids as well
Controls and gameplay should reflect both casual and hardcore gaming. Examples would include Wikipad design for a Google controller which is combining an android tablet and a controller combined while including motion sensing technology and cameras like Playstation Eye. What Google could also include is virtual reality like the Occulus Rift since Google also made the privacy killing and now banned Google Glasses. The controller could be called Googlepad. Seperate motion sensing controllers or Kinect style functions are ideal so as to compete above Xbox series. Chromeplay controller inputs could be like having Wii U Gamepad, Microsoft Kinect, Wii Remote, and Playstation Move controllers combined with some Wii U Pro Controller style controllers available.
Google Chromeplay would most likely as I predict it will be for Ninth Generation sometime in 2019. Games would be downloaded via Google Play, like you would download apps. Chromeplay would be somewhere between Apple iPlay and iGamac.
