Lego Movie Video-Game's portable versions for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita follow a different gameplay structure and have more limits in what it can do.
For example, gameplay for Lego Movie Video-Game portable is more linear. Although the levels emulate the movie's story the levels are shorter and also have side objectives in which completing one will get you a gold block. The view of the game varies with some sequences having you looking in an isometric birds eye view and others having a straight third person view for the occasion. The controls take advantage of the touchpad though you have the option to use orthodox controls such as turning the analog stick.
There are some features missing in the portable versions that were in the PC and console versions such as character customization, side-missions, and open world gameplay. The portable versions still have movie cut-scenes. The portable versions don't have co-op so only the played character will appear in game though you can switch between them by using the touchscreen and characters still have their special abilities with Emmet using a drill and Wyldstyle having aerobatic skills to climb higher ledges other characters can't reach.
While the graphics seem more pixalated compared to the console version, graphics and sounds are still decent for a portable game. The "Everything is Awesome" song plays when a level has been completed.
While this game isn't bad for a portable game, it doesn't have the same lasting appeal as the console versions as the former had to remove certain features to comply with the hardware restrictions for 3DS and Vita systems.
