GoldenEye 007 review

For Nintendo Wii and DS. The Wii version is one I will review. Based on James Bond series, this maybe the best one of the series yet. The gameplay is based on first person shooter mechanics and the Wii Remote makes first person shooters more real as you can also use the Wii Zapper.

Gameplay involves First Person Shooting mechanics including the use of many awesome weapons plus the smartphone used for hacking. These mechanics are pretty fun with motion sensing but are harder to control than a traditional controller. For example, moving camera uses motion sensing instead of a right analog stick. The nunchuk analog stick is for moving forward, backward, left, or right without moving camera. Gameplay here is quite fun and tells a 007 story quite well. In cutscenes, Daniel Craig appears and for a Wii game, this game is Wii Gold. All kinds of Nintendo control schemes could be used such as the Nintendo Gamecube controller, Classic controller, Wii Zapper, and Wii remote+nunchuk. This definitely feels like a 007 game with many awesome non shooter moves such as melee knockouts when you swing the nunchuk. You could either go in stealth or Rambo style in dealing with enemies.

Graphics look like more effort was put in them for a Wii game. The Wii has more limits in what developers could do but this game worked hard at perfecting graphics the best they could. I bet it would have look more awesome on the Wii U. Resolutions do have a little blur to them but it does look like detail was attempted. You could easily mistake this game for something of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 quality. However, James Bond seems to be Golden on Nintendo systems since the N64. Environments seem to be abound here as you could easily feel the future from time in 2008.

This game overall has the fun first person shooter stats and weapons plus James Bond moves. Rating of 91/100.
