2013 will put all current(7th) generation consoles in predecessor mode and lead to a decline in new games after 2013 for Xbox 360 and even PlayStation 3. I've found just a few new Wii games for 2013 and Disney Infinity is the only Wii game to be exhibited at E3(also available for Wii U, Xbox 360, PlasyStation 3, 3DS, Windows). I've seen the 8th generation consoles Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and I am amazed by them. I already have a Wii U and impressed by Xbox One's features and more advantages I plan on getting an Xbox One.
Xbox One does have numerous flaws which will only make PlayStation 4 a more popular alternative for some gamers unable to handle the former's flaws. As for me, I can handle many of these flaws. I would prefer an Xbox One on grounds that Forza Motorsport 5 and numerous other Xbox One titles I like are exclusive to the console. While graphics aren't everything the Xbox One has 8GB memory, 5GB for games and 3GB for everything else. PS4 does have some more advanced graphics specs but Xbox One can do more.
What makes Xbox One more preferable over PlayStation 4 is the numerous features and convenient use of HDMI input for TV, movies, internet, and skype plus voice controls to go right between each other. Play Forza Motorsport 5 AND chat with friends on skype, making multiplayer enjoyable as well. Usually, I depend on internet the same way I depend on electricity so requiring an internet connection every 24 hours won't badly effect me much. Plus, I usually don't trade in games that much. Xbox One has 500GB storage for all your entertainment delights. Xbox One competes not only with Wii U and PlayStation 4 but is better at competing with Apple and Google TV. Could Xbox One's popularity for the all in one entertainment class be key for Apple and Google improving their TV products to be like game consoles?
Here are some games I wish for Christmas 2013-14:
Watch Dogs(Xbox One or Wii U)
Forza Motorsport 5(Xbox One)
Assassins Creed IV(Xbox One or Wii U)
Call of Duty Ghosts(Xbox One)
Super Smash Bros. 4(Wii U)
Need For Speed Rivals(Xbox One)
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist(Wii U)
Grand Theft Auto V(Xbox One)*
The Sims 4(PC)**
Disney Infinity?(Wii U)
Battlefield 4(Xbox One)
Saints Row IV(PC)***
Wolfenstein The New Order?(Xbox One)
Thief(Xbox One)**
gran Turismo 6(PS3)
*=Hoping Rockstar Games will release next generation Grand theft Auto V
**=Will be available next year
***=Downloading it from Steam.
I should have between 6-8 Xbox One games for sure and 3-5 new Wii U games. I'm trying to decide whether I should get Watch Dogs and/or Assassins Creed IV for Xbox One or Wii U. The Wii U Gamepad could enhance gameplay with Watch Dogs which influences whether or not to buy the Wii U version. I'm unsure whether to get Disney Infinity and Wolfenstein New Order.
The reason I prefer Xbox One over PlayStation 4 is because the former has more exclusive titles suited towards my preferences(Forza Motorsport 5) and it has more features to it. I practically use internet like electricity so internet connection isn't a problem. Plus, I don't expect to be selling any Xbox One games very often. I also have used an Xbox Live account so I will set up an Xbox Live account for Xbox One. It seems to me that Xbox One has more features than PlayStation 4 but I do admit the latter has some advantages over the former. Even Wii U has some advantages PS4 and even Xbox One lack.
