The Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 review

For PlayStation 3 only.

When Vikings Attack: a casual game where you recruit townsfolk against Viking invaders in Northern Europe. Gameplay includes recruiting resistance against vikings and throwing objects at the viking invaders. Viking invaders will also throw objects at you to disperse your resistance. Goal is to disperse all viking invaders and clear stages. This game is fun to play as you play the resistance against vikings and throw objects at them. Graphics include awesome high definition cel shaded texture and environments look lot like Northern European countries such as UK, Ireland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. But if I had to guess one single country it would be Denmark. Well done design, great gameplay and a variety of levels which must be unlocked by completing first levels. Well Done ol' show.

Sound Shapes: A platform game where you play a PacMan looking ball and activate musical notes on a journey from one place to another. Obstacles such as red things will kill you while you can stick it to sticky things such as blue paths and flowers. Collecting notes and checkpoints will activate notes and raise your score. You can also use the editor to custom make your own level. Graphics remind you of LittleBigPlanet as both bring out the artistic arts and crafts/cel shaded spirit. The game plays really well and is overall fun to play.

Tokyo Jungle: A survival game set in a post apocalyptic Tokyo, Japan where humans are extinct and animals both wild and domesticated fight for survival in the law of the jungle. Numerous animals both predator and prey compete for survival and each have different abilities. With predators, they attack their prey with animal attacks. This game really set the course for making animal attacks and effects realistic. Truly a realistic jungle/survival experience for numerous animals of both the wild and once domesticated habitats. Graphics include high definition detail and entitle this game to realistic effects. It's simple gameplay does well with best in show graphics for PS3. Could you ask for a better survival game of this type? As a PSN game it surely is amazing. See if you can hunt your way to the top of the food chain. After all, anything is possible in a post apocalyptic world.

Fat Princess: This game involves two princesses from two different kingdoms fighting each other and trying to bring down each other's forts and outposts. The first level for example involves reclaiming your princess while keeping the enemies princess locked up in your fort. Make sure Fat Princess is on the throne while your enemies princess is in the cage. While this game has very fun gameplay to it such as feeling like capture the flag, it can be something of trial and error at first if you play by yourself. Don't worry, killing enemies is fun enough and you also have a barrage of AI allies to fight off the enemies and even do the goals for you. An excellent story set in medieval times involving cursed cake and well done cel-shaded graphics.
