Blast From Past: Rapala Pro Fishing

Rapala Pro Fishing was released August 25, 2004 for Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube presumably. Rapala Pro Fishing reminds me a lot of Sega Bass Fishing and how Rapala Pro Fishing is actually a cheap rip-off of Sega Bass Fishing.

Gameplay consists of you driving the boat to a location on a river or lake and casting your fishing rod to catch fish. I do admit that driving the boat seems interesting and this is something Sega Bass Fishing doesn't have. When casting the rod and waiting for fish to catch, you'll need patience unlike Sega Bass Fishing which made fishing more fun. I've had a difficult time trying to catch fish without losing my patience. I know it's a fishing game but look how awesome Sega Bass Fishing came out. Was Activision trying to make this a simulator? Who would play a fishing simulator when Sega Bass Fishing makes fishing more fun? I do wish to say Rapala Pro Fishing is playable but just not as fun as Sega Bass Fishing.

Graphics don't look too pleasing as compared to amazing Xbox games like Project Gotham Racing and Halo as Rapala Pro Fishing's graphics look muddy and low resolution. Another reason this game can get boring is the graphics not being the best and instead being like that of a 1998 PlayStation game. I do give this game credit for the environments being at least acceptable but are ruined thanks to having graphics being mushy! There are Dreamcast games that have better graphics!

Rapala Pro Fishing is indeed a rip-off of Sega Bass Fishing and inferior to the latter as while Sega Bass Fishing is a Sega classic game, Rapala Pro Fishing is easily forgettable as unless you have saint like patience, you will get bored in no more than 15 minutes after playing!

Final Verdict comes down to 5.3/10. Points Given:
+Acceptable Environments
-Boring and Uninspiring Gameplay
-Mushy, outdated Graphics
-Pushes Your Patience
-Lack of Replay Value
